Datça Delice Project

Year: 2019
Area: 1.200 m2

Located in Kızlan Village, Datça, the project is conceived as a low-density agro-tourism settlement set within a 10,000 m² site overlooking panoramic views of both the Aegean and the Mediterranean seas.

The primary design principle is grounded in preserving the existing olive grove landscape, allowing the natural tree pattern to define the placement of built elements. Rather than imposing a predefined order, the settlement emerges from the terrain, with structures carefully positioned within the clearings formed by the trees.

The architectural language is developed through a combination of reinforced concrete, steel, and stone, establishing a balanced dialogue between permanence and lightness. These materials are expressed consistently across the site, reinforcing a cohesive identity while responding to the rural context.

In addition to seven primary accommodation units, a series of prefabricated steel modules are distributed across the site, supporting auxiliary functions and enabling phased growth. This incremental approach fosters a sense of a settlement that evolves over time, rather than one that appears as a singular, finished object.

The resulting spatial experience is defined by a layered relationship between interior and exterior, where paths, terraces, and open spaces weave through the olive landscape—creating an environment that feels both embedded in nature and shaped by a quiet architectural order.
