Datca Kızlan Settlement
Year: 2023
Area: 5.500 m2
Located in Datça, the project is conceived as a landscape-driven living environment, where built forms are carefully positioned within the natural topography to establish a balanced relationship between architecture and nature.
The masterplan is organized around a central social spine, defined by a sequence of open and semi-open spaces including a pool terrace, gathering areas, and communal facilities. Residential units are arranged in a fragmented layout, following the contours of the land and allowing each unit to benefit from views, privacy, and direct contact with the landscape.
Rather than forming a singular, dominant mass, the project adopts a dispersed and low-rise configuration, creating a porous settlement pattern that enables continuity between built and open spaces. Pedestrian pathways weave through the site, connecting different programmatic elements while reinforcing a slow, experiential movement across the terrain.
The architectural language remains calm and restrained, allowing the natural environment to take precedence. Shaded outdoor areas, terraces, and transitional spaces extend daily life into the landscape, fostering a seamless interaction between interior and exterior.
