Kurtköy Weekend Family House

Year: 2023
Area: 300 m2

Located in Istanbul–Kurtköy, this single-family residence is conceived as a contemporary domestic environment shaped by clarity of form, spatial continuity, and a close relationship with the landscape.

The building is composed of articulated volumes that respond to the scale of family life, avoiding a singular monolithic expression in favor of a fragmented yet cohesive composition. This approach allows the house to open itself to the garden at multiple points, establishing a continuous dialogue between interior and exterior spaces.

Large openings, terraces, and shaded overhangs extend the living areas outward, creating layered thresholds between enclosed and open environments. The ground floor is organized as a fluid living space, directly connected to the garden, while the upper levels accommodate more private functions, each benefiting from light, views, and outdoor access.

Material choices reinforce a calm and timeless architectural language. Neutral surfaces, natural textures, and controlled detailing allow light and landscape to become the primary spatial elements, rather than the architecture asserting itself.

The house is designed not as a static object, but as a living framework—one that supports the rhythms of everyday life, seasonal change, and the evolving patterns of family use.
