Istanbul Airport DHMI Office Building

Year: 2025
Area: 12. 000m2

The façade design of the office building located within Istanbul Airport is conceived as a precise and rhythmic architectural system that reflects the clarity and efficiency of its context.

Organized through a strong horizontal layering, the building envelope establishes a clear structural order, where continuous bands define each floor level while reinforcing the building’s elongated proportions. Within this framework, a repetitive modular grid of vertical elements and transparent surfaces creates a balanced interplay between solidity and openness.

Large glazed areas ensure maximum daylight penetration and visual continuity, transforming the façade into a permeable surface that reveals the internal working environment. This transparency is complemented by linear balcony bands and subtle depth variations, which introduce scale and articulation while maintaining a coherent overall expression.

The façade operates not merely as an enclosure, but as an environmental interface—mediating light, views, and user experience. Its restrained material palette and disciplined geometry align with the infrastructural character of the airport, while offering a refined and contemporary corporate identity.

At the ground level, a more solid and defined base anchors the building, providing a clear threshold between public access and interior functions. In contrast, the upper levels express lightness and continuity, resulting in a balanced composition between permanence and transparency.
