SG House
Year: 2022
Area: 200 m2
The residence is conceived as a sculptural composition of interlocking volumes, where solid and void are carefully orchestrated to produce a dynamic and expressive architectural form.
A dominant vertical element anchors the composition, acting as both a spatial core and a defining gesture within the overall massing. This element is contrasted by horizontally extended slabs and deep cantilevers, which create shaded terraces and emphasize the building’s layered geometry.
The façade is articulated as a textured and stratified shell, combining natural stone surfaces with expansive glazing. Curved glass elements introduce a softer, fluid counterpoint to the otherwise orthogonal geometry, enhancing the building’s formal richness while reinforcing vertical continuity.
Large transparent openings dissolve the boundary between interior and exterior, allowing the living spaces to extend seamlessly into terraces, water features, and landscaped areas. The integration of outdoor elements—such as the pool, planting, and fire pit—establishes a continuous living environment that unfolds across multiple levels.
Material contrasts between solid, tactile surfaces and lightweight transparent planes define the architectural language, creating a balance between permanence and openness. The result is a residence that operates both as a refined living environment and as a distinct architectural object within its natural setting.
