Moda Yol Cafe
Year: 2024
Area: 80 m2
Located in Kadıköy–Moda, the café interior is conceived as a calm and inviting urban refuge, where familiarity and contemporary simplicity coexist.
The spatial organization is defined by a clear and open layout, allowing visual continuity across the space while maintaining distinct zones for gathering, working, and casual seating. A central communal table anchors the interior, reinforcing a sense of shared experience, while more intimate seating areas are positioned along the perimeter.
Material selection plays a key role in establishing the atmosphere. Exposed brick surfaces introduce a tactile and familiar texture, balanced by soft-toned walls, terrazzo flooring, and warm timber elements. This restrained palette is complemented by curated artworks and greenery, adding layers of color and subtle vibrancy without overwhelming the space.
The café counter is integrated seamlessly into the overall composition, maintaining openness and transparency between production and service areas. Lighting elements—both natural and artificial—are carefully orchestrated to enhance depth and warmth, creating a space that transitions effortlessly throughout the day.
Rather than pursuing a singular stylistic expression, the design embraces a layered and timeless approach, allowing the space to feel both rooted in its context and adaptable to everyday urban life.
