Istanbul Airport Pierre Herme

Year: 2023
Area: 200 m2
Client: Pierre Herme İstanbul

The Istanbul Airport boutique of Pierre Hermé, one of the world’s leading macaron brands, is conceived as a refined retail environment that translates the brand’s iconic Parisian identity into a contemporary architectural language.

The design is structured around a strong, monolithic outer shell that defines the boutique as a distinct object within the expansive airport interior. This bold and restrained envelope frames the interior as a curated stage, where products, colors, and textures are presented with clarity and precision.

Inside, the spatial experience is organized to emphasize both display and ritual. The central counter becomes the focal point, functioning as a point of interaction, while layered lighting and material contrasts enhance the perception of depth and richness. The use of warm tones, reflective surfaces, and refined detailing echoes the brand’s association with craftsmanship and sensory experience.

A sculptural staircase element introduces vertical continuity, connecting different spatial levels while reinforcing the boutique’s presence within the larger circulation space. The semi-open seating area extends the experience beyond retail, allowing the brand to engage with the public realm of the airport.

Rather than dissolving into its surroundings, the design deliberately asserts itself—operating as an architectural object that balances elegance, identity, and visibility within a highly dynamic context.
